Question: My garbage disposal quit working. How can I fix it?

Answer: The most common cause for a garbage disposal to quit working is when something gets lodged inside of it. First, unplug the garbage disposal. This can usually be found underneath the sink. Then, reach down into the disposal and see if you can fish out what is blocking it. Often you'll find a utensil, bone, or other similar object. Once removed, plug the unit back in and try it out. If it still does not run, it may need to be reset. Most garbage disposals have a reset button on the bottom of the unit. Simply press this button and try the unit again.
